Today’s post will look at the Ventura County real estate market in October 2016. October saw a decrease in the number of homes sold as compared to September as well as an increase in inventory. However, the average listing price and sales price were both up from September. In fact, the average sales price was up almost 8% from the prior month. It will be interesting to see what effect the presidential election has on the real estate market, if any, in the next couple of months.
For purposes of this and future blog posts, Ventura County statistics are based off of the following ten cities in Ventura County: Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Ojai, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Simi Valley, Santa Paula, Thousand Oaks, and Ventura. This data is pulled directly from the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and may not contain information on properties that were sold off market. Number of homes sold does not include residential income, lots and lands, mobile homes, or commercial.
