July 2017 Ventura County Real Estate Market Analysis

Most of the numbers from July show a dip from both the previous month and the previous year. The selling price of Ventura County homes is down almost 2.7% from last month and down 3% from the same time last year. Those who are worried that this might show a slowdown in the market should note that it is not abnormal to see a dip in prices for a month, only to show it rebound the following months. Also, the demand for housing can slowdown during this time of year when families are more interested in getting their kids ready for school than looking for a house to buy. We will watch the numbers for the rest of the year to see if any trends can be found.

For purposes of this and future blog posts, Ventura County statistics are based off of the following ten cities in Ventura County: Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Ojai, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Simi Valley, Santa Paula, Thousand Oaks, and Ventura. This data is pulled directly from the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and may not contain information on properties that were sold off market. Number of homes sold does not include residential income, lots and lands, or commercial.
