Happy New Year! We hope everyone had a fun and safe New Year’s celebration. As we enter 2016, we’ll be highlighting some ongoing events throughout the area as well as including our normal date specific events. Let’s get started:
Whale Watching
Daily Tours
Tis the season for gray whale watching! Tours happen a couple of times per day, but reservations are recommended as the boats tend to sell out due to the popularity. Bundle up the whole family and enjoy the beautiful views of the Channel Islands while keeping your eyes peeled for whales, dolphins, sea lions and more! Some of the companies who specialize in whale watching boat tours are Channel Islands Whale Watching and Island Packers.
Ventura’s Farmer’s Market
Midtown – every Wednesday, 9:00 am-1:00 pm; Pacific View Mall, West Parking Lot near the fountains
Downtown – every Saturday, 8:30 am-12:00 pm; Corner of Santa Clara & Palm Streets
Come enjoy some outdoor shopping, rain or shine! These Certified Farmers’ Markets are Ventura’s original Farmer’s Markets that have been open year-round since the 80’s. Be aware that California health laws restrict animals from joining in on the shopping, so leave them home, but bring the family so they can all choose their favorite fruit or veggie.
Camarillo’s Famer’s Market
Every Saturday, 8:00 am-12:00 pm; 2220 Ventura Blvd., Old Town Camarillo
Looking for a Farmer’s Market closer to you in Camarillo? Here it is! This market benefits the Camarillo Hospice and is great to meet new people and learn more about the produce you’re purchasing. Bring the family to enjoy the outdoors, the live music and some great produce. Get more information and tips here.
Channel Islands Harbor Farmer’s Market
Every Sunday, 10:00 am-2:00 pm; Marine Emporium Landing
Ready for a seafood dinner? Visit the Channel Islands Harbor Certified Farmers’ Market for fresh seafood like fish and live crab along with all the fresh produce normally found at a Farmer’s Market.
