For the Ventura County residents still looking for something to do on New Year’s Eve, this post is for you! While this list is obviously not all-inclusive, it should at least give you some ideas on where you can ring in the new year. If you know of any places that are not in this list and are having New Year’s Eve celebrations, please feel free to add them in the comment section below. Now, without further ado, let’s get to the parties.
CAMARILLO
Brendan’s Irish Pub and Restaurant will be hosting an event they are calling “Champagne & Pajamas.” The event will run from 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM. Brendan’s is located at 1755 E. Daily Dr. in Camarillo and their phone number is 805- 383-4100.
FILLMORE
Fillmore & Western Railway will be hosting a New Year’s Eve party on their vintage passenger train. Guests will enjoy a dinner that is cooked and served onboard while they are entertained by actors acting as “interesting personalities.” After dinner, guests can dance and party in the social car until midnight when a champagne toast and party favors will be given out. After midnight, the train will return back to Fillmore. Tickets are $110 per person and guests must be 21 years or older. The train will board at 7:30 PM and will return at approximately 12:30 AM. Dinner choices include prime rib, chicken cordon blue, blackened pork chop, or a vegetarian meal.
OJAI
The Ojai Valley Woman’s Club will be hosting a dance party named “Putting on the Ritz.” Dancing starts at 8:00 PM and the party will continue until 12:30 AM. The optional dress code will be 1920’s attire in support of the theme. The party will have a no-host bar and finger foods to enjoy. Entertainment will be provided by the band Crowfoot. Pre-tickets are available for $25 or they can be purchased at the door for $30. The Ojai Valley Woman’s Club is located at 411 Ojai Avenue in Ojai.
OXNARD
Levity Live in The Collection will be having two shows featuring standup comic Bert Kreischer. The first show will begin at 7 p.m. and the second show starts at 10 p.m. Tickets for the 7:00 PM show cost $30 and tickets for the 10:00 PM show cost $40. Each ticket will come with free-flowing Champagne and party favors. Tickets are for adults 21 years and older.
Pirates Bar and Restaurant will be having a New Year’s Eve party featuring the band “Los Amigo.” The party starts at 7:00 p.m. and tickets will be $25 for entry or $55 for entry, dinner, and a bottle of champagne per table. Pirates is located at 450 S. Victoria Ave in Oxnard.
The Tower Club will be hosting a New Year’s Eve celebration featuring live music and DJ Adam. Hors d’oeuvres will be served from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM and then the buffet will start at 8:00 PM. The buffet will include a soup and salad bar, street taco station, carving station, seafood station, and mashed potato bar. Tickets are $75 per person and can be bought by emailing tcmembership@wedgewoodbanquet.com or by calling 805-983-7777 ext. 223.
The Waterside Restaurant & Wine Bar will be having two seating times to celebrate New Years on the East Coast and on the West Coast. The first seating time will be from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will include a toast as the clock strikes midnight on the East Coast. Live music will be performed by The Dave Blanchard Band. The second seating will be from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and will include music by Teresa Russell & Tom Buenger. Tickets are $69.95 per person or $59.95 for those with a valid military I.D.
SIMI VALLEY
The Arena Sports Grill and Bar will be having a New Year’s Eve countdown with DJ Kryptonite. There is no charge for this event and the Arena will be serving $3 well drinks starting at 10 PM. Guests can also reserve a table for $20 which includes a bottle of champagne. The Arena can be found at 999 Enchanted Way in Simi Valley.
THOUSAND OAKS
For the young adults that are not yet 21, Borderline Bar and Grill will have a county style party for guests 18 and older. The cost is $22.50 per person will include a dinner buffet, champagne toast and party favors. Borderline is located at 99 Rolling Oaks Drive in Thousand Oaks.
Muvico will be hosting a New Year’s Eve comedy show featuring Frances Dilorinzo and Dave Williamson. The show will start at 7 p.m. and will be hosted by actor Joel Bryant. Tickets are $30 per person and can be purchased by calling 805-494-4702. Muvico is located at 166 Hillcrest Drive.
The Palm Garden Hotel will have a masquerade party from 7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The party will feature a magic show by Danny magic and a live performance by the Harry Selvin Big Band. Tickets are $150 per person and include a gourmet menu consisting of a cheese platter, salad, hor d’oeuvres, and a buffet featuring Halibut, Beef Tenderloin stuffed with Lobster Salad, a Carving Station, Truffle Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Asparagus and a dessert station. The Palm Garden Hotel is located at 495 N. Ventu Park Road.
The Thousand Oaks Teen Center will be hosting A New Year’s Eve dance for middle school students. The event is for incoming 7th and 8th graders only and a valid school ID is requited. The dance will run from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm and the cost is $10 per person. The Thousand Oaks Teen Center is located at 1375 E. Janss Road.
VENTURA
The Crowne Plaza Hotel will be having a dinner and New Year’s Eve party. Tickets are $175 per person for both the dinner and the party, which starts at 8 p.m. The dinner will also include an open bar. For those who would like to attend the party only, tickets can be purchased for $100 per person, which starts at 10 p.m. For those who may want to stay a night or two at the hotel, there are also hotel packages available.
Discovery Ventura will be having a party featuring the Daft Punk tribute band, “One More Time.” The party will run from 7:30 PM to 1:30 AM with general admission tickets costing $24 and VIP tickets costing $60. VIP tickets include bottomless champagne until midnight, dessert, and access to the VIP seating area. Discovery Ventura is located at 1888 E. Thompson Blvd.
The Rubicon Theater will be having an improv show from 7:00 pm to 10:30 p.m. which will include hors d’oeuvres, a dessert buffet, and a champagne toast. Tickets are available for $40 per person or $25 for military personnel with a valid ID or seniors 55 and over. The Rubicon is located at 1006 E. Main St.
The Ventura Harbor Comedy Club will be having two shows on New Year’s Eve for guests 18 and older. The headliners for the two shows will be Quinn Dahle and Ron Kenney. The first show runs from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm and the second show runs from 9:30 pm to 12:00 AM. Tickets for the show only cost $30 per person while tickers for dinner and the show cost $65 per person. The Ventura Harbor Comedy Club is located at 1559 Spinnaker Drive, Suite 205A.
