May 2016 Ventura County Real Estate Market Analysis

Today’s post will look at the Ventura County real estate market in May 2016. As the summer approaches and children enter their summer break, we expect the real estate market in Ventura County to continue to heat up. Although the number of sold homes did not change much from April to May, the average days on market decreased dramatically. This data is backed up by the fact that we see homes in multiple offer situations as soon as they hit the market. With interest rates still at/near historic lows, this trend may continue for the short term. For those looking to sell their home, the market is definitely in your favor. Anyone looking to buy a home should be ready to view any house you are interested in as quickly as possible and understand that you will probably have to compete against other offers.

For purposes of this and future blog posts, Ventura County statistics are based off of the following ten cities in Ventura County: Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Ojai, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Simi Valley, Santa Paula, Thousand oaks, and Ventura. This data is pulled directly from the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and may not contain information on properties that were sold off market. Number of homes sold does not include residential income, lots and lands, mobile homes, or commercial.
