December 2016 Ventura County Real Estate Market Analysis

Today’s post will look at the Ventura County real estate market in December 2016. As with November, the story remains that there was very little inventory to close out the year. Some may contribute this to the fact that many people are hesitant to put their homes on the market during the holidays. We will see if the inventory begins to pick up in the first few months of 2017. Also contributing to this could be the rising interest rates, as homebuyers may be looking to buy homes in fear of the rates continuing to rise.

For purposes of this and future blog posts, Ventura County statistics are based off of the following ten cities in Ventura County: Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Ojai, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Simi Valley, Santa Paula, Thousand Oaks, and Ventura. This data is pulled directly from the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and may not contain information on properties that were sold off market. Number of homes sold does not include residential income, lots and lands, or commercial.
