Hey everyone, Ainslee here to fill you in on some of the events that will be happening throughout Ventura County during the month of November. As the holiday season quickly approaches, it brings with it many activities that will be fun for the whole family. The weather is cooling off so bundle up and go explore all that Ventura County has to offer!
Gourmet Food Trucks
Don’t know what’s for dinner? That’s okay, come on down to First Thursdays Food Trucks in Plaza Park in Downtown Oxnard from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Thursday, November 5th’s event is family and pet friendly so bring the whole household to enjoy some of the finest food truck offerings all in one place! Seating is limited, but feel free to bring folding chairs or a blanket for the whole family and hangout all while enjoying the music. Purrs & Paws Holiday Boutique
The Humane Society of Ventura County will be holding its 4th Annual Purrs & Paws Holiday Boutique on Saturday, November 7th from 8:30 AM until 3:00 PM at Balboa Middle School. This event comes free of admission charge and will host over 40 vendors specializing in handcrafted items such as home & holiday décor, jewelry, baby & pet gifts, and so much more. This event is put on by The Humane Society of Ventura County and is a non-profit organization.
Sip and Savor Weekend Ventura Wine Tour
Ready to spend a day away with the adults in your life? Join Sip and Savor for a wine tour around Ventura while enjoying a packed lunch by Paradise Pantry. Choose from an afternoon on either Saturday, November 7th or Sunday, November 8th for a fun-filled day visiting family-owned and –operated wineries for a taste of their specialties. Seats are limited and need to be reserved by Thursday, November 5th, so call the babysitter and get ready to spend a wonderful afternoon with other wine-os.
The Dinner Detective
Looking for an entertaining night out? Enjoy a four-course plated dinner along with mystery entertainment with The Dinner Detective on Saturday, November 7th at The Pierpont Inn in Ventura. Skip the regular dinner date and be a part of the show by helping solve the mystery.
Jurassic Quest
During the weekend of Friday, November 13th and Sunday, November 15th, Jurassic Quest will be at the Ventura County Fairgrounds featuring over 50 life-size dinosaurs that offer fun and education for the entire family! There will be stations to dig up dinosaur fossils, ride the ultra-realistic animatronic dinosaurs, get your face painted and partake in some dino crafts. This is a travelling exhibition that is only in Ventura for this one weekend. Don’t miss the opportunity to thrill your inner dino-lover; tickets can be found here.
The Ventura County Ballet – The Nutcracker
Get into your holiday spirit at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center during a ballet performance of The Nutcracker. With three shows to choose from: two on Saturday, November 21st at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM and one on Sunday, November 22nd at 2:00 PM. Purchase tickets here.
R.G. Canning Flea Market
Start your holiday season shopping at the Ventura County Fairgrounds on Sunday, November 22nd with local handmade craft booths, furniture booths, and many more. Open from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM with a $5.00/person admission or come early to enjoy the brisk morning with early bird admission from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM at $10.00/person admission. Children under 12 are admitted free when accompanied by an adult, so bundle up the kids and head out for some holiday shopping supporting your local suppliers.
8th Annual Ventura Turkey Trot
Before giving thanks around the dinner table surrounded by your loved ones, pile them all into the car along with some canned goods for Food Share and support The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Ventura in their 8th Annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Morning, Thursday, November 26th. The fast and fun 5K starts at 8:00 AM and at 9:10 AM the 12 and under free Kids’ 1K will be held at the Ventura Auto Center. You can sign up or donate here
